Job Summary


Savannah State University, Department of Engineering Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position. The department's mission focuses primarily on teaching, scholarship through applied research, and industry/professional engagement. The postdoctoral research associate will publish results in scientific journals and conference papers. The candidate will also be responsible for developing curriculum and introductory undergraduate level courses in cybersecurity. Mentor undergraduate student research assistants working in cybersecurity. The candidate will work on other grant-related activities. This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon availability of funding. The candidate may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, teaches two (2) undergraduate level courses per semester.
  • Collaborate with Project Director (PD) and co-PD in research with the Cybersecurity program.
  • Publishes and disseminates research related to cybersecurity.
  • Mentors undergraduate students in performing research activities in cybersecurity.
  • Writes grants proposal and other grant related activities with Project Director (PD) and co-PD.

Required Qualifications

  • A Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate level teaching and research.
  • A strong theoretical and/or experimental background related to cybersecurity.
  • The candidate is expected to have good skills in writing scientific papers and technical reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cybersecurity certification

Proposed Salary


Proposed salary is $50,000.00 annually.
