Overview The School of Business at the University of Connecticut (UConn) invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Researcher appointment with expertise in real estate economics and/or real estate finance. The appointment may be renewable for up to two additional years, contingent on annual performance and funding. The start date is October 27, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, and the position is based on the Storrs campus in person. The position is completely research-focused, aimed at producing academic research suitable for publication in high-quality real estate journals or related business field journals. The role includes participation in research grant funding proposal preparation and related activities. There are no teaching responsibilities associated with this position. The School of Business offers multiple master’s and doctoral programs, including MBA programs, specialized master’s programs, and a full-time Ph.D. program, along with undergraduate majors. The School hosts six research centers/programs focused on Real Estate, Health Care, Data Analytics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Economic Analysis. Responsibilities Conduct independent and collaborative research in real estate economics and/or real estate finance with the goal of high-quality publications in top-tier journals. Participate in preparation of research grant proposals and engage in grant-related activities. Contribute to ongoing research projects within the School of Business and related centers/programs. Engage in scholarly activities that may enhance cross-disciplinary publication opportunities in business, finance, economics, or real estate journals. Work without teaching responsibilities while focusing on research outputs. Minimum Qualifications Earned Ph.D. in real estate or a related field. Evidence of progress toward high-quality publications (e.g., manuscripts under review, past seminar or conference presentations). Experience developing independent research ideas and contributing to collaborative projects. Demonstrated potential to contribute to external funding activities or proposal preparation. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team and contribute to peer-reviewed publications. Strong written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated dissemination through working papers or publications and presentations. Experience working in diverse environments. Experience with statistical software such as Stata, R, Python, and/or MATLAB. Preferred Qualifications Prior or forthcoming publications in top finance, economics, or real estate journals. Experience with revise-and-resubmit processes for top journals. Experience with external funding, including proposals and data preparation support. Appointment Terms The appointment is a full-time, 12-month Postdoctoral Research Associate position, starting on October 27, 2025, and may be renewable for up to two additional academic years. The position includes full benefits and a salary range of $70,000 to $75,000.
