Job Title:- PostGres Lead DBA

Job Location:- McLean, VA or Plano, TX (Onsite)

Long Term Contract

Team is responsible for management of cloud databases. Mongo and Postgres. Big need right now is for Postgres but they have to have some Mongo. Looking for someone at a tech lead level. Both operational (ongoing) and engineering (new work) done by this team. Use ServiceNow for ticketing. Also need someone familiar with migrating databases from legacy to cloud. Keen on performance, need to ensure they are meeting the ongoing demand. Focus on optimization, administration, both keeping the lights on AND driving the new work. Hands on engineer role but has a mix of leadership. Some day to day work needs to be automated, so someone familiar with automating operational database work would be a big help. They do cover all hour support so there will be some on call.

Re: Mongo, they need knowledge there; they do cover both Mongo and Postgres. Can't take someone with zero Mongo but to be fair the first chunk of work is going to be more Postgres than Mongo.

70/30-80/20 hands on vs leadership (design reviews, helping more junior team members)

Manager sits in Plano, team all in McLean, either location is truly fine.

  • Management of database integration activities
• Expertise as database engineer/administrator for any of the relational database management systems: MongoDB and PostgreSQL
