Provides assistance to Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (Rayburn’s) power supply team. Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge Conducts complex market and portfolio modeling and analysis to effectively monitor Rayburn’s exposure to market changes. Integrates all power supply changes into portfolio model to properly quantify risk. Reviews Rayburn’s compliance with power supply hedging and risk management policies. Possesses/works towards a deep understanding of the ERCOT nodal market to properly capture market structure within the portfolio model. Assists with Rayburn’s power supply activities and develops portfolio model with third parties as needed. Supports the development of the cost-of-service analysis (COSA) rates and rate schedules. Maintains a working knowledge of power supply trends and costs. Collaborates with internal departments to analyze power supply issues and billing impacts. Key Accountabilities Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements or obligations, including those inherent in this position, effective as a result of employment with Rayburn. Timely shares complete information with others including Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties, as required. Delegates jobs and tasks to appropriate employees, providing complete information and resources to properly complete such jobs and tasks. Timely provides Rayburn management with complete reports on work and tasks performed as such reports are requested or required. Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor and executive management. Job Related Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Field or Engineering or equivalent experience; Advance degree is preferred. Experience: 1-5 years prior nodal modeling and analytics is preferred. Skills: Experience of energy risk management products, risk management fundamentals, and portfolio management preferred Experience and working knowledge of the US electric transmission grid and associated regional transmission organizations and specific experience with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas is preferred Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive and collaborative leadership style that is strong in teamwork Evidence of the practice of a high-level confidentiality Interpersonal Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytical skills Excellent organizational skills Physical Demands Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer workstation. Ability to perform repetitive motions in order to use a computer keyboard, test equipment and operate hand tools. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; open file cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
