The Practice Manager provides effective leadership and accountability for all operations of two or more Practice locations and/or a minimum of associated Revenue to include excellence in patient-focused clinical care, human resources, information systems, quality assurance, and financial management. The Practice Manager is responsible for business operations and personnel management and oversight of the daily operations of the practice(s). Schedule: Monday and Friday, 8am to 5pm. The role may occasionally require evening or Saturday hours. What you will be working on Financial Management: Proposes and manages operational budget for more than one Practice Center or associated minimum revenue thresholds. Maintains financial literacy relative to patient care and industry trends. Maintains inventory control processes and facilitates purchasing in accordance with established procedures. Manages facility assets responsibly. Understands and adheres to all financial policies and procedures and leads others to do the same. Human Resources Management: Responsible for employee timekeeping accuracy and timely approval. Conducts job interviews and employee selection to support effective staffing. Performs onboarding and orientation with new staff to promote engagement and productivity. Initiates activities to promote employee and physician engagement. Utilizes formal and informal recognition resources to recognize staff and provider accomplishments. Conducts training activities with staff and providers to support operational functions. Maintains effective staffing levels and adequate scheduling. Information Management: Understands and utilizes patient health and billing systems effectively. Ensures compliance and appropriate utilization of information technology resources. Utilizes technology to ensure accurate coding processes. Performs and participates in audits to ensure compliance and minimize risk. Understands privacy laws (i.e., HIPAA) and organizational policies regarding health information management and safeguarding protected health information (PHI). Leadership: Provides operational leadership that promotes a consistent and effective culture for all assigned locations. Demonstrates effective written, verbal, and electronic communication in a professional manner. Leads positively with physicians, encouraging voice and collaboration. Maintains functional relationships throughout the organization to draw upon expertise and resources. Inspires and motivates others toward organizational and personal goal achievement. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills. Clinical Care Management: Exemplifies and promotes positive patient relations. Empowers frontline employees and providers to utilize effective service recovery as needed. Optimizes ophthalmology delivery processes for efficient patient flow. Uses quality improvement tools and methodology to improve patient care and operational processes. Participates in and utilizes patient feedback mechanisms, including NPS surveys, to ensure extraordinary care. Patient Care: Understands clinical policies and procedures and ensures patient care is delivered accordingly. Implements clinical programs and promotes adherence to clinical standards of care. Monitors identified quality measures to promote effective patient care delivery. Facility Management: Promotes safety and security by conducting regular inspections and monitoring the work environment for hazards and maintenance issues. Coordinates and participates in emergency preparedness activities, including drills, simulations, and training. Ensures material safety data sheets are accessible and staff is familiar with workplace hazards and response procedures. Guarantees preventative maintenance, repairs, and other equipment upkeep are completed regularly. Accounts Receivable Management: Utilizes financial assistance practices and trains staff and providers. Coordinates accounts receivable activities with the Billing Department. Employs financial best practices and approved registration procedures in the front office. Ensures accurate and compliant coding practices, training staff and providers accordingly. Other Management Responsibilities: Explores feasibility and practicality of innovations in ophthalmology patient care delivery and patient-provider interactions. Leads and initiates marketing activities to promote services, facilities, and providers within the served communities. Provides positive public relations. Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives.
