Practice Nurse – Spirometry Clinics (Nottingham, NG16)Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Practice Nurse, to support with running Spirometry Clinics on a part-time basis, for a GP Surgery in the Nottingham Area. The suitable candidate will be able to autonomously perform spirometry clinics with pre-booked patients to help support the service up to 3 days per month. This contract is extremely flexible, with clinics booked around your availabilityLocation: Nottingham (NG16) – Flexible Shifts Across Surrounding AreasContract: Locum | Ad Hoc / Flexible ClinicsRate: £32 LTD p/h (PAYE option available)Clinic: 10am set up - 5pm (30 min break)System: EMISAbout the RoleService Care Solutions are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to run respiratory and spirometry clinics in Nottingham (NG16) and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for an autonomous, skilled nurse with recent spirometry experience who is looking for flexible, rewarding work within a supportive GP surgery environment.You will be responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory assessment and monitoring services, supporting the diagnosis and ongoing management of conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive spirometry testing in line with ARTP and BTS guidelines.Prepare patients for testing by explaining the procedure, obtaining informed consent, and identifying any contraindications.Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot spirometry equipment to ensure accurate, reliable results.Perform pre- and post-bronchodilator spirometry where clinically indicated, following all infection control and safety protocols.Record and interpret results accurately, highlighting abnormal readings and escalating findings to the GP or respiratory lead.Support the diagnosis, management, and monitoring of patients with respiratory conditions.Assist with patient recall and review processes, contributing to QOF respiratory targets.Provide patient education on respiratory health, including inhaler technique checks, smoking cessation advice, and self-management guidance.Maintain accurate clinical records, ensuring data is coded correctly and uploaded to the EMIS system.RequirementsRegistered Nurse (NMC)Competency in performing and interpreting spirometry (recent experience essential)Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work autonomously and manage clinics efficientlyReliable, professional, and patient-focused approachBenefits£32 LTD p/h with PAYE option available£250 Welcome Bonus after 150 hours workedFlexible, ad hoc shifts to fit your scheduleWork in a friendly, supportive primary care environmentOpportunity to gain further experience and expand your clinical portfolioLocations CoveredWhile the primary site is Nottingham (NG16), shifts are available across Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas, offering flexibility for local travel and clinic coverage.How to ApplyIf you are an experienced Practice Nurse with spirometry expertise and are looking for flexible locum work, we would love to hear from you!
