Preschool Director – Montessori Program
Location: Norco/Corona, CA Area
Schedule: Full-time, Exempt | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Flexibility required for occasional closing shifts (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM), minimum twice per month
Compensation
- Base Salary: $72,500 annually
- Performance Bonus: Up to $32,500 annually
- Total Compensation Potential: Up to $105,000/year
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to serve as Director of a well-established Montessori preschool in Corona, CA. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and excels in managing operations, developing staff, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
The Director is responsible for all aspects of school operations, including staff leadership, enrollment, family engagement, and strict adherence to California licensing regulations (Title 22), while maintaining high program quality aligned with Montessori principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily school operations, including staffing, scheduling, and program quality
- Ensure full compliance with California Title 22 regulations, Community Care Licensing requirements, and company policies at all times
- Maintain licensing readiness, including documentation, incident reporting, and audit preparedness
- Serve as the primary point of contact for licensing agencies and inspections
- Recruit, train, coach, and hold staff accountable to performance and compliance standards
- Build strong, professional relationships with families and effectively address concerns
- Maintain a safe, organized, and high-quality learning environment
- Support enrollment growth and retention efforts
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented school culture
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Preschool Director in a licensed childcare center
- Minimum 1+ years of Montessori experience
- Strong working knowledge of California Title 22 regulations and licensing compliance requirements
- Proven experience managing staff, licensing inspections, and school operations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Montessori Requirement:
- Montessori certification (AMI or AMS) preferred
- Candidates without certification must be willing to enroll in Montessori training
- Sponsorship is available for the right candidate
