JOB DESCRIPTION:

Title: Preschool/Elementary School Children Sports & Fitness PE Instructor/Coach

IMMEDIATE OPENING!! If you love to engage with young children, this is a fun position for you! Be a part of Kidokinetics (www.kidokinetics.com), a fitness and sports program for young children. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong love for children & engaging children.

The instructor/coach is responsible for implementing the Kidokinetics curriculum, ensuring each child has a positive and successful Kidokinetics experience, and is responsible for the well-being of each student who attends a Kidokinetics class. The coach assumes the role of coach, friend, guide, disciplinarian, and mentor. Ultimately it is the coachs responsibility to carry out the mission of Kidokinetics: helping children enhance coordination, concentration, and fine/gross motor skills in a fun and non-competitive environment.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The coach reports directly to the Kidokinetics GM/Director/Head Coach of the location

What it Takes

  • Previous experience working with children aged 6 months - 10 years
  • Must pass a background finger printing test & drug test per State Child Care guidelines
  • Valid drivers license
  • Possess a reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to carry & transport sports equipment that is 15-20 lbs.
  • Must be physically able to lead the children in activities like running & jumping, plus ground stretches including push-ups and sit-up
  • Has played sports recreationally or through a school team
  • Has coached sports (volunteer or paid)
  • Being on time. That means early. Every day.
  • Carrying heavy equipment bags. Every day.
  • Sweating through your clothes. Every day.
  • Memorizing 100s of childrens names. Every season.
  • Greeting every child to the field with a smile, and every family, and every school director with a positive attitude, no matter what else has happened that day.
  • Being responsible, and doing what you said you would, and being accountable to yourself, your team, and the All-Stars in your care. Every day.
  • Sacrifice. Hard work. Discipline. Commitment. Every day.
  • Leaving excuses at the door. Owning your work. Every day.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares lessons, games, events, activities, and classes in accordance with the guidelines of Kidokinetics Inc.
  • Partners with the GM/Director in scheduling of classes
  • Subs/subbing as necessary
  • Assisting in managing current clients
  • Abides by the safety guidelines of Kidokinetics Inc. at all times
  • Conducts classes in an enthusiastic, nurturing manner
  • Arrives to each class prior to start times
  • Arrives to each class prepared with the appropriate lesson plans, equipment, supplies, and other materials
  • Set up a sign and/or banner for display at the location
  • Takes care of equipment and supplies
  • Monitors the temperature of classrooms and facilities (if applicable)
  • Makes every effort to connect one-on-one with each child
  • Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
  • Proper use of Kidolink for all reports, attendance sheets, registration forms, Liability waivers etc. accurately and on time
  • Is a good role model for young children physically, emotionally, and socially
  • Works as part of a team
  • Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects cultural differences
  • Provides a safe environment for children and caregivers
  • Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
  • Sets clear, consistent limits, has realistic expectations, and uses positive methods of child guidance
  • Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
  • Participates in training to improve skills and professional competencies
  • Serves as a good role modelphysically, emotionally, and socially for the children, teachers and attending parents
  • Willing to agree to and sign a standard company agreement of 6 months. Upto 20% pay rate increase after 6 months or 2 seasons.
  • Classes are held at various locations also you will be networking with prospective locations & traveling to meet with them so dependable transportation is a must.

The program teaches the basic skills of various sports with a focus on developing motor skills in a fun and non-competitive environment. Kidokinetics also offers birthday parties, camp, and enrichment programs. Our mission is to help children develop lasting self-confidence and a lifelong love of physical fitness.

The program is offered at various locations (daycares, preschools, elementary schools, after-school program locations, community centers and residential homes) and classes are structured and age-appropriate for children ages 12-months (parent & me) to 10-years. The classes are high energy and most importantly fun for children, and the coaches!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 20 per week
