Job Overview:
The Professional Engineer (PE) is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects, including pressure vessel and piping design.
Responsibilities:
Conduct all phases of pressure vessel and pressure system design, fabrication, repair, alteration, testing and inspection.
Assist in the design of for air, chemical, and gas purification systems as requested by the Applications Sales team and the customer
Manage Canadian Registration Number (CRN) design documentation and submittal process
Interpret process design (P&ID) and related sales documentation such as customer specifications, internal datasheets, etc.
Establish project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within parameters of corporate policy
Oversee budgetary, scheduling, and project databases, and report regularly to engineering manager on progress as well as on problems that could significantly affect cost or schedule
Precisely follow written and oral instructions and perform detailed work thoroughly, neatly, accurately, and efficiently
Inform supervisors and fabricators promptly of any changes, and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Qualifications:
State PE licensure
Full understanding of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and B31.3 Process Piping and API standards such as ASME Section VIII, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Knowledge of and proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or Bentley AutoPLANT, COMPRESS, and other engineering-related software
Three (3) or more years of Pressure Vessel related experience in Oil and Gas industry required
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and general computer literacy
Basic knowledge of purchasing and engineering document control systems
Organized and capable of thinking through and resolving complex design challenge
Ability to apply flexibility in handling challenging multi-tasking workload
Familiarity with how a fabrication floor works and willingness to interact with welders and assemblers to guide and troubleshoot
