The AstrodyneTDI Principal Electrical Engineer is a highly-skilled engineering professional who designs and directs large-scale electrical engineering projects. The Principal Electrical Engineer acts as a hands-on technical manager actively communicating with Project Management and other members of design team to ensure delivery of assigned objectives for scope, time, and budget.The budgeted salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000.What You’ll Do:Manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion; this involves working closely with Program Management and other departments within an organization such as purchasing, sales, marketing and manufacturing to ensure the electrical product or equipment is completed in accordance to the TDI’s quality standardsOversee project budgets to assure cost, performance and reliability targets are achieved and delegate responsibilities to the technical staff involved with the projectLead the technical responsibilities of electrical engineering projects - this includes design, development, testing and manufacturing of electrical equipment or products.Provide Input of product’s mechanical and thermal designProvide documentation throughout any given project to develop policies, procedures and instructions for use of the equipment or productsPeriodic reporting of planned and completed development activities, provide estimated completion dates, and prompt reporting of issues affecting the development of productsParticipates of performance and salary reviews for engineering resources assigned to his/her projects.Work together with sales and marketing organization to specify new standard products.Additionally the Principle Electrical Engineer will participate of quoting process providing Engineering BOM cost and time to completion estimates.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or related disciplineMinimum ten years of solid experience in development in development activities with electronic power conversion products preferably with Established history of successful switch-mode power supply designs.High frequency magnetic component design experienceExperience debugging EMC issuesExtensive knowledge of components utilized in switch-mode power supply designAgency compliance (UL, CSA, VDE, CE) experienceAbility to design advanced switch-mode power supply products with minimal supervision and guidance.Experience in designing switch-mode power supplies for testability and manufacturability.Experience in designing microcontrollers to report and control power electronics.Preferred Qualifications:MS Degree in Electrical or Software EngineeringExperience with established development tools and processesStrong business savvy regarding product life cycle managementStrong ability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic work environmentExcellent root cause analysis and problem solving skillsLeadership skills to drive projects to happen on timeLocation: Hackettstown, NJ#LI-ATDIAAP/EEO StatementAstrodyne TDI is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
