THE OPPORTUNITY
Perform complex and difficult administrative, budgetary, systems, statistical, and other management analyses in support of activities and functions of multiple departments; plan, develop, and coordinate implementation strategies for various special projects with Countywide impact; make recommendations for action; and assist in policy, procedure, and budget development and implementation.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:
  • Identify, plan, and implement programmatic goals, objectives, and priorities within areas of responsibility in a manner consistent with the County's overall goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in area(s) of specialty or designated responsibility; act as a liaison/resource to departments, the Chief Administrative Officer, the Board of Supervisors, and other management staff.
  • Develop, manage, implement, and maintain major departmental, functional, or Countywide initiatives, programs, or projects

IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT

The County is seeking an adept, innovative professional to support long-term and emerging priority projects and programs in the El Dorado County Chief Administrative Office. As pivotal members in this fast-paced, challenging, and productive office, the Principal Management Analyst is responsible for the management of substantive long-term programs in addition to shorter-term deliverables regarding County administration such as policy, project management, proposing/solutioning best practices across a wide variety of programs, policy development and budget. They work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer and Deputy Chiefs as well as Elected Officials, and Department Heads. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of professionalism, public sector knowledge and skills to manage an evolving workload. They will also ensure that all activity is conducted with the utmost integrity by possessing a strong work ethic and ethical values, display high competency in oral and written communications, and possess a set of technical skills to support the duties of this position.

Human Resources will assess your application to determine if you are minimally qualified using the following recommendations:

Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, economics, planning, political science, or a closely related field, and four (4) years of advanced professional-level experience in public administration, operations, and budgetary or similar management analytical work. Two (2) years of the required experience in a County Administrative Office setting, City Manager's Office, or a comparable public agency dealing with major public policy issues is desirable.
OR

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, economics, planning, political science, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of journey-level professional administrative, operations, or budgetary experience at a level equivalent to the County's class of Management Analyst II.
