Position: Principal or Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Sudbury, MA area 5 days onsite (some hybrid later)

Duration: 6+ month contract

Interview: 1st round Teams meeting, 2nd round onsite visit

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage security systems, tools, and processes to protect company assets.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Work closely with IT teams to secure networks, applications, and data across cloud and on-premises infrastructures.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to conduct security awareness training and promote a culture of security within the organization.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends and recommend improvements to mitigate evolving risks.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning to ensure the protection of data and systems in case of a security breach.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of secure system architectures and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity roles, with a strong understanding of network security, threat analysis, and risk management.
  • Experience with security monitoring tools, vulnerability scanning software, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and network protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
