Status: Full Time, Exempt

Responsible for the roadmap, innovation, strategy, and design of a portfolio of MVPs product lines, which may include but is not limited to Medicare Advantage, State Programs, Commercial, and/or Ancillary/supplemental benefits products. This leadership position plays a strategic role in the identification, development, and management of services and products that support MVPs strategic plan. Provides overall strategic leadership to assigned portfolio of insurance products. Develops key business strategies for growth, retention, customer experience, and new opportunities. Responsible for the ultimate success of the products, which includes associated vendors and customer experience elements. Creates, maintains, and owns three year roadmaps for assigned products. Owns solution development for assigned products. Roadmaps and solutions must be supported by qualitative and quantitative data and link to outcomes and metrics.

Following the MVP Way, proposes new initiatives to advance MVPs goals. Monitors initiative planning to ensure it tracks on schedule incorporate new initiatives into operations planning and ensures appropriate market positioning. Role will focus on driving deeper penetration in MVP markets and growing market share, as well as identifying other opportunities to grow (i.e. geographic or additional product lines). Identify and communicate vision for products that align with MVP strategy. Assess customer needs, perform market research, gather business partner needs, and suggest features to deliver outcome. Gather data from qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform roadmaps. Work with executive strategy team, business owners, and technical teams to gain alignment on product vision and roadmaps.

Provides leadership to Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and others to ensure that sales strategy, brand direction, customer experience, and product/program positioning are aligned. Establishes, maintains, and facilitates cooperative working relationships among all cross-functional groups. Serves as the subject matter expert on products assigned including thorough analysis of all aspects of product performance, design, competitive position, strategy, and regulatory compliance. Reports product performance, creates business cases and project plans, develops new product recommendations, and presents to executive leadership through written and verbal presentations. Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum of ten years of product management experience (product management, product development, product design, product marketing, service design, market research, or strategy). Health insurance experience preferred.
Required Skills:
  • Self-directed and detail oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and solid judgment and confidence.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent computer and software skills including but not limited to: MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for application in dealing with all constituents co-workers, vendors, and management staff.
  • A team player able to work well in an energetic, dynamic and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience required in situations demanding strict adherence to confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Some travel, including overnight, to work with staff in MVPs regional offices required.
