Principal Project Controls SpecialistPay: $88.00- $98.00 per hour DOEWe are seeking a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support large-scale, highly complex nuclear projects. This expert-level role leads the development and execution of project controls systems across estimating, scheduling, cost control, and change management, with visibility at the program and portfolio level.This position is suited for a highly experienced professional who operates independently, mentors others, and provides strategic project controls leadership on Brown and Black classified projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead development and execution of project controls reporting systems for major nuclear capital projectsPerform advanced estimating, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and change management activitiesProvide integrated reporting at the project, program, and portfolio levelsAnalyze cost and schedule performance and support executive decision-makingSupport risk management efforts, including probabilistic analysis when applicableTrain, mentor, and guide junior project controls professionalsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and suppliersOperate with minimal oversight and wide latitude for independent decision-makingRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, finance, project management, engineering, or related field7+ years of project controls experience11+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeExpert-level knowledge of project controls principles and methodologiesStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in business, finance, project management, or related fieldPMI or AACE certification (PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, CEP, EVPP, CCC, or similar)Advanced experience with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office Suite, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, PeopleSoft, Powerplant, EmaxExperience with risk management and Monte Carlo analysisNuclear or large regulated capital project experience
