We're seeking a Senior Fullstack (Frontend leaning) Engineer with strong full-stack expertise to help build scalable, high-quality web applications. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines exceptional technical depth with sound judgment and a collaborative mindset. While AI-powered development tools are an important part of the engineering workflow, success in this position comes from making thoughtful architectural decisions, maintaining high engineering standards, and delivering reliable, maintainable software.
This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in a New York City office.
What You’ll Do
Own the quality of the software development lifecycle through architecture discussions, code reviews, testing strategies, and production readiness.
Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define technical solutions, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver user-focused features.
Design and build modern full-stack applications with an emphasis on frontend architecture that is modular, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
Improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability by identifying architectural improvements and proactively addressing technical debt.
Promote functional programming concepts, immutability, and clean coding practices to create predictable, testable applications.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, refactoring, code generation, and exploration while applying strong engineering judgment to validate, refine, and productionize solutions.
Develop and maintain comprehensive automated testing across unit, integration, component, and end-to-end testing, ensuring rapid feedback and confidence in continuous delivery pipelines.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of professional experience building and shipping production-grade web applications.
Expert-level proficiency with TypeScript and extensive experience building applications with React and server-side rendering frameworks such as Next.js.
Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, reusable component systems, and scalable UI development.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and architectural tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience designing flexible, maintainable systems that evolve gracefully as product requirements change.
Deep appreciation for functional programming principles and immutability, with experience applying these concepts in production environments.
Strong knowledge of modern software testing practices, including unit, integration, component, and end-to-end testing.
Proven experience mentoring engineers, leading technical discussions, and raising the quality of engineering teams through thoughtful code reviews and technical leadership.
AI-Enabled Engineering
The ideal candidate embraces AI as a productivity accelerator while maintaining ownership of engineering quality.
You should have experience working with AI-powered development environments such as Cursor or similar tools, understand where AI-generated code adds value, recognize its limitations, and apply sound engineering judgment to evaluate multiple implementation approaches before delivering production-ready solutions.
