Principal / Sr. Principal Software Engineer [TS SCI]

OverviewNorthrop Grumman, Defense Systems, is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Software Engineer to work on the Whisper programs in Stafford, Virginia. The Whisper program is a large antenna-based RF transmission and receiving network platform. We use command and control software to remotely control multiple systems worldwide.ResponsibilitiesPerform software development and maintenance.Assist with requirements: application design, code development, testing, and code maintenance.Basic QualificationsPosition is a dual-level opportunity. Eligible levels: Level 3 or Level 4.Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience OR Master's with 3 years OR High School diploma with 9 years.Level 4: Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience OR Master's with 6 years OR High School diploma with 12 years.Work on-site at Stafford, Virginia.Programming experience with Java, C, Bash, Python.Familiarity with Windows and RHEL.TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.Prior to start obtain IAT Level II or higher (Security+).Familiarity with compliance/vulnerability monitoring tools such as Nessus, HBSS, ACAS.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Java Swing, multi-threaded and distributed Java applications, Java Web application servers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Wildfly).Knowledge of relational databases (JDBC, SQL, MySQL), JEE (EJB/JPA), web services (RESTful).Experience with backup/recovery software (Hycu, others), Nutanix or VMWare environments.Experience with Elastic Search Stack (ELK), web GUI front-end development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular).Hardening Linux OS and applications to required configurations (DISA STIGs).Configuration management with version control tools (Jira, Bamboo, Stash, GIT, Subversion).Risk Management Framework (RMF) familiarity.Linux and/or Windows system administration experience.Compensation & BenefitsPrimary level salary range: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00.Secondary level salary range: $142,000.00 – $213,000.00.Eligibility for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and potential long-term incentives for higher positions.Health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.Additional InformationRelocation assistance: None.Clearance required for start: Yes.Travel: 10% of the time.Work location: Stafford, Virginia.Equal Opportunity EmploymentNorthrop Grumman is an Equal Opportunity Employer, making decisions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, national origin, age, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class.
