Job Overview

The Principal / Associate Program Director will be responsible for managing large program(s) within Verterra’s business portfolio including external government / DOD customer contract(s) and internal research and development efforts. They will be accountable for overseeing the full product life cycle of their products including strategy, bid & proposal, development, production and field support. They will be responsible for interfacing with the customer, executing their program(s), ensuring schedule/budget adherence, project management, risk management, and customer deliverable / billable milestone execution. They will work closely with the engineering team / management, brief senior leadership regularly, and report directly to the COO.

We are looking for individuals who can hit the ground running, be willing to roll up their sleeves to work in a startup environment, execute and plan their own work direction, as well as thrive in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple external customer/government program efforts & internally funded research & development efforts simultaneously
  • Manage and grow the customer relationship and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead cross functional integrated product development teams (locally and remote, domestic and eventually internationally)
  • Coordinate with partners and vendors to support program execution
  • Connect program execution to business strategy and vision for the various VOLTURNUS product developments in Verterra’s portfolio
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders (e.g., various DOD and commercial customers) during program execution
  • Lead and be accountable for contract execution of various programs within portfolio including customer engagement, reviews and deliverables
  • Perform regular project, program, budget/EVMS and risk reviews, as well as technology reviews, with an ability to brief senior leadership
  • Responsible for meeting contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned programs including billable milestones
  • Responsible for customer deliverable submittals in accordance with the contract
  • Support various business development / pursuit efforts to win future business
  • Direct alignment of internal research & development to support program execution
  • Accountable for regular program updates to senior leadership team as well as support regular strategy sessions to direct business growth
  • Actively involved with strategy, financial and annual planning

Experience & Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations or related field and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) and 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Program Management and project management experience typically including management of business metrics, earned value (EVMS), estimates at complete (EAC), risk and opportunity (R&O), quality, and planning
  • Experience working Military, Government or DOD programs
