PRN Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Medical/Surgical inpatient unit on an as‑needed basis. This role provides flexible scheduling while maintaining high standards of patient care and teamwork. PRN nurses support staffing needs during peak census, vacations, and coverage gaps. What You’ll Do Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients Perform assessments and implement provider-ordered plans of care Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge instructions Document care accurately in the electronic health record Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members What We’re Looking For Active RN license in Iowa or compact state Graduate of an accredited nursing program BLS certification required ACLS preferred Previous Med/Surg or inpatient experience preferred Additional Information Inpatient Medical/Surgical environment Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Salary Range: Competitive PRN rate based on experience The mission of Van Buren County Hospital is to provide patients and staff with a superior experience by working as one to deliver compassionate and personalized healthcare close to home.
