About the Position
A warm and welcoming family in Atlanta is seeking a proactive, experienced Household Manager/Nanny to become an integral part of their household. With two young children, ages 1 year and 2.5 years, the family is looking for someone who enjoys balancing childcare with household management and can confidently help keep their home running smoothly.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a long-term position. The family hopes to find someone who will grow with them for many years and become a trusted, dependable presence in both their children's lives and the overall household.
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes initiative, notices what needs to be done without being asked, and enjoys creating a calm, organized environment while providing loving, attentive care to young children.
Responsibilities
Household Management
- Maintain the overall cleanliness, tidiness, and organization of the home (no deep cleaning, as the family has a professional cleaner)
- Make beds and reset bedrooms each day
- Load and unload the dishwasher and keep the kitchen clean and organized
- Manage packages and deliveries
- Maintain general household organization and tidiness
- Prepare dinner for the children
- Stay on top of household needs and proactively complete tasks without direction
- Assist with additional household responsibilities including restocking, grocery shopping, errands, returns, and other household support as needed
Childcare
- Pick the children up from school each afternoon (approximately a five-minute drive or 20-minute walk)
- Prepare and serve dinner for the children
- Assist with bath time and the bedtime routine
- Support parents during the evening transition home
- Foster a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment
- Set kind, consistent boundaries while allowing the children space to express their emotions
- Provide attentive care on days when one of the children is unable to attend school due to illness or school closures (flexibility for occasional full-day coverage is highly valued)
Pet Care
- Care for the family's small Dachshund
- Prepare the dog's meals
- Take the dog on one daily walk
- Provide general daily pet care
The Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience caring for toddlers
- Is proactive and takes initiative without needing constant direction
- Enjoys balancing childcare with household management responsibilities
- Is warm, patient, calm, and genuinely gentle with children
- Can confidently set healthy boundaries while helping children navigate big emotions with kindness and respect
- Is dependable, organized, and flexible
- Is interested in building a long-term relationship with one family
- Takes pride in anticipating needs and helping a busy household run efficiently
Additional Information
- The family employs a chef for the adults, so no adult meal preparation is required. This role will only prepare meals for the children.
- One child has an egg allergy, so experience following food allergies and dietary restrictions is important.
- The family values someone who is observant, self-motivated, and willing to step in wherever help is needed.
- While the schedule is structured around afternoon and evening coverage, flexibility to occasionally adjust hours or provide additional support is appreciated.
- This is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position with a family that values consistency, teamwork, professionalism, and creating a positive, nurturing environment for their children.
