Process Automation Engineer

Location: Swiftwater, PA - Onsite

Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Process Automation Engineer at DPS Group Global in Swiftwater, PA. The Process Automation Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as process control, troubleshooting, working on process automation, and utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and instrumentation.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology experience is required.
  • This role requires experience with small lab scale operations.
  • Able to lead and/or support design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification of both new and retrofitted process equipment for a 2kL-scale cell culture process (primary unit ops include bioreactors, disc stack centrifuge, mixing vessels, chromatography, nanofiltration, TFF)
  • Able to lead vendor management for small-scale (laboratory) equipment installation and qualification.
  • Fast learner and a self-starter. Timelines on the project are extremely aggressive and engineering resources are limited, so a high level of initiative and independence is crucial to success in the role.
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary coordination in a large capital project setting, requiring regular interface with counterparts in MSAT, Automation, Manufacturing, Safety (HSE), Quality, Project Management, and multiple disciplines within a contracted A&E firm. Must be able to determine which discipline(s) to coordinate with at the appropriate times.
  • Able to be on site at least 80% of the time during current phase (basic engineering) and 100% of the time during execution phase.
  • Process Control and Troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in Process Automation and working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
