Job Summary Our Client, a global chemical manufacturer, is seeking a Process Control Engineer with expertise in DCS and PLC programming, ladder logic, and process improvement via controls. Experience: BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years manufacturing experience. Responsibilities Operate with a focus on safety and environmental compliance. Design, implement, and support DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment. Maintain the manufacturing plant’s control systems at world‑class standards. Install software updates with the latest versions. Participate on project teams and serve as site SME in the development of control/instrumentation systems and specifications; support factory acceptance testing of new equipment systems. Lead the development and execution of small electrical/controls projects, upgrading obsolete controls to modern technology. Work with corporate engineering to support maintenance and improvement of site electrical infrastructure, equipment, and standards. Perform system start‑ups and operational checkouts, including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing. Reload and reboot PLCs to restore faulted equipment after power outages. Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections as needed. Provide hardware and software application support to maintenance and production. Set up and configure replacement electronic and controls components for specific applications. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to maintain the plant’s process networks. Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, P&ID diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems. Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls, including ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other components. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Experience 5–10 years of experience in process control and automation. Programming, developing, and configuring DeltaV, PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA software for control systems. Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on process improvement. Knowledge & Skills Read P&ID diagrams, process instrumentation (sensors, actuators), low‑voltage distribution, safety relays, and emergency stop circuits. Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Good organizational and time‑management skills. Basic decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours. Leadership and on‑call support availability. Excellent troubleshooting abilities; familiarity with Ethernet/IP and Modbus communication networks.
