Position: Controls Engineer Location: Owensboro, KYCompany: Food Manufacturer Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $129,000Summary:We are partnered with a food industry leader seeking to add a skilled Process Controls Engineer to lead the digital transformation of manufacturing operations. This role will oversee engineering initiatives aimed at improving quality, efficiency, capacity, and innovation. The ideal candidate will manage projects from concept through implementation and be act as a SME for Rockwell control systems. This position also supports plant operations by maintaining and enhancing industrial control systems, including utilities, processing, and packaging lines.Key Responsibilities:Lead the planning, approval, installation, and commissioning of capital projects, leveraging internal maintenance teams where possible.Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to support automation, process control, and data visualization across manufacturing operations.Coordinate and manage external contractors to ensure project success.Maintain and optimize the plant's batch management system, including recipe updates and new formula integration.Implement programming and process changes related to new equipment and R&D initiatives.Provide on-site support during initial production runs of new products to validate system performance.Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical innovation and continuous improvement.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - preferred. 10+ years of experience in industrial controls accepted in lieu of Bachelor's Degree3+ years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (programming in Rs logic 5000 and Studio 5000)Proficiency in Ignition SCADA systems- preferredHMI design experience using FactoryTalk View Studio - preferredBenefits:Medical, Dental, VisionPaid Time OffDisabilityLife and AD&D401k With MatchHealth & Flex Spending AccountsIf you are looking to expand your career with an established food industry leader, apply for the Controls Engineer role today!
