Union Specialties, Inc., an innovative high quality Worldwide Leader in the manufacturing of water-based Polyurethanes located in Newburyport, MA, is in search of a hands-on, skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our team, who will report directly to the Vice President of Operations. We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities 

· Oversee all day-to-day production operations for the entire plant.

· Coordinate with the production team to identify and resolve production problems and bottlenecks.

· Design and implement safety protocols to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

· Work closely with the development team when scaling up new products from laboratory.

· Monitor equipment and machinery operations to ensure they function optimally and develop preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and increase equipment lifespan.

· Conduct root cause analyses on product non-conformances and propose solutions to prevent future recurrences.

· Manage and oversee the repair and maintenance of equipment to minimize production delays.

· Determine the optimal layout and organization of the production floor to increase capacity and efficiency.

· Collaborate with management on Capital Improvements for replacement of plant systems, such as electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.

· Stay up to date with technological advancements in the manufacturing industry to improve processes and production.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of processing techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Experience in project management.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
