Reports To: Engineering Manager

Position Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for assigned manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and SMED initiatives. This role partners with production, maintenance, quality, and customers to improve efficiency, reduce waste and downtime, support product launches, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily manufacturing operations by identifying and eliminating process inefficiencies and recurring downtime.

  • Lead process optimization, workflow development, layout improvements, and waste reduction initiatives.

  • Manage capital and non-capital projects, including cost, timeline, training, and performance tracking.

  • Develop and implement tooling, Poka-Yoke methods, and standardized processes.

  • Support product launches and engineering changes in compliance with APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949.

  • Maintain controlled documentation, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and process KPIs (scrap, efficiency, downtime).

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, Logistics, and HSE teams.

  • Ensure processes meet quality, safety, environmental, and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering preferred).

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.

  • Automotive industry experience required.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and SMED.

  • 3D CAD, PLC, product launch, and soldering experience a plus.

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with regular time on the shop floor.

  • Ability to support extended hours and multiple shifts as needed.
