Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Process Engineer to support our production and engineering teams with process development, continuous improvement initiatives, facility and equipment support, and production design activities. This individual will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing processes, assisting with new product introductions, and ensuring operational efficiency.

While experience with electronics manufacturing processes and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) is a plus, it is not required — we are open to strong process or mechanical engineering backgrounds with a desire to learn and grow in the electronics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by working closely with design engineers and production teams.

  • Create and maintain work instructions, process flow diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to resolve production challenges.

  • Oversee and support the preventive maintenance and upkeep of production equipment and facility infrastructure.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.

  • Conduct process validations and capability studies as needed.

  • Assist with programming and set-up for manufacturing equipment (training will be provided if necessary).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Design, and Production to ensure smooth operations.

  • Review and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, process engineering, or design engineering environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn electronic manufacturing processes if no prior experience.

  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering documentation such as drawings, schematics, and specifications.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with SMT, selective soldering, wave soldering, conformal coating, and mechanical assembly processes is a plus, but not required.
