JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Required to follow good manufacturing practices, attend safety training, and always follow safety rules.
  • Responsible for producing ethanol, distiller's grain, corn oil and other co-products. Those responsibilities include but are not limited to the operation and cleaning of the: corn grind system, cook system, fermentation system, yeast propagation, distillation system, dehydration and evaporation system, and dryer system.
  • Responsible for start-up and shut down of all the above systems efficiently and safely.
  • Responsible for always keeping the entire production area as neat and clean as possible.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records regarding the production of ethanol and co-products.
  • Required to assist the maintenance department with the repair and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Required to assist the Grains handling department with the loading or unloading of trucks and rail cars.
  • Required to perform any other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Approximately 50% of the operator's time will be spent monitoring the production process from the control room. The remainder of the operator's time will be spent taking samples and monitoring equipment in the plant.
  • The yeast propagation process requires the operator to dump 50-pound bags of yeast into the yeast propagation tank.
  • Sampling and monitoring of the equipment in the plant requires the operators to monitor some equipment that is elevated. This requires that the operator climb stairs and/or ladders.

HOURS and RATE of PAY:

  • Employees work 12-hour shifts with 36-hours one week and 48-hours the next.
  • Employees rotate between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. every 28 days.
  • Employees begin at $25.00 per hour with regular advancement opportunities based on skills-based pay.
