Position Summary As a Process Operator you will operate, challenge and clean equipment, according to appropriate SOPs, JSAs, and batch documents to deliver high quality products manufactured in a safe way to fulfil the needs of the supply chain. You will monitor equipment for excessive rejects, perform duties in accordance with regulatory and OSHA requirements, resolve minor downtime occurrences within performance expectations, and identify improvement opportunities to drive business results. You will have the ability to changeover and set up equipment to design specifications. Key Responsibilities Operate, challenge, replenish consumable supplies, clean equipment, and perform all duties needed by the business in accordance with cGMPs, Batch Documentation, SOPs, ZSPs and JSAs while maintaining inspection readiness with minimal supervision. Actively participate and own monitoring equipment for excessive rejects/stoppages, using performance data to escalate any problems affecting product quality, safety, or line performance. Train in the GSK Production System standards (5S, standard work, problem solving, Gemba, process confirmations, performance management) towards Zero Accidents, Zero Defects, and Zero Waste. Participate in performance management entry, steps 1–3 of problem solving, and maintain OSW and 5S. Deliver against safety, quality, waste and performance objectives, identifying and recommending areas for process improvement or alternative operating methods to increase efficiency. Act as an expert on operations/process, troubleshooting, and resolving minor equipment production stoppages. Show reliable, high-quality, high‑quantity performance. Utilize required systems/applications (DELTA, myLearning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions, etc.) to meet production supply goals. Collaborate with associates, assistants, and/or technicians to carry out daily responsibilities, including troubleshooting technical issues and passing information to the next supervisory level. Describe the technological theory of operation, product flow through equipment, sensors, limit switches, and proximity sensors. Conduct equipment set up, changeovers, and start‑of‑batch activities to design specifications without startup issues, certifying on multiple technologies as needed. Why You? Ability to handle up to 40 lbs. of materials. Ability to work up to 12.5 hrs in one shift (if required). Preferred Qualifications Ability to work accurately with figures and information. Ability to use and analyze data effectively. Mechanically inclined, able to learn operations, read gauges, instrumentation, and equipment related to medical devices and/or pharmaceutical products. Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Competent at data entry, using computers and HMIs. Knowledgeable of all applications in the area (DELTA, myLearning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions, etc.). Skills Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills. Basic computer skills and operational computer skills, MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to work accurately with figures and information. Ability to use and analyze data effectively. Mechanically inclined, able to learn operations, read gauges, instrumentation, and equipment related to medical devices and/or pharmaceutical products. Traits Visual inspection and attention to detail. Strong attention to detail and ability to create and follow detailed documentation. Ability to follow both written and verbal instruction. Knowledge of OEE. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently. Competent at data entry, using computers and HMIs. Knowledgeable of all applications in the area (DELTA, myLearning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions, etc.). Physical Job Requirements Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, balance, crawl, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp, feel, talk, hear, lift, and perform tasks as defined. Ability to work overtime as needed. Must be able to wear gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing as required. Ability to learn at a rapid pace to support training module expectations. Must be able to work inside a manufacturing environment where there may be exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and various drug compounds. Must be able to flow to the work as needed and operate in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment. About the Zebulon Site GSK’s Zebulon site is a global supplier of Respiratory and Solid Dose medicines to patients around the globe and the largest GSK pharmaceutical secondary manufacturing site in North America. The site is located less than 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh, Wendell, Knightdale, Rocky Mount, Wilson, and Wake Forest.
