Zing Morton Grove, IL Processing Manager – Compounding/Processing Full-Time | Onsite Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on experience Lead Operations. Drive Efficiency. Zing is seeking a high-impact Processing Manager to lead the Compounding/Processing department within a fast‑paced beauty and cosmetics manufacturing facility in Morton Grove, Illinois. This role is built for a results‑driven leader who thrives in cGMP environments, understands chemical processing operations, and can drive sustainable improvements across people, process, and equipment. You will own departmental performance, production schedules, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives. If you’ve led teams in regulated manufacturing and know how to turn KPIs into measurable results, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop processing employees to drive performance, engagement, and alignment with business objectives Manage and optimize daily use of process equipment and department manpower Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements Drive efficiency improvements while reducing downtime and maximizing staff utilization Monitor equipment utilization (OEE) and submit daily and monthly department reports Lead root cause investigations and complete NCI and CAPA documentation within required timelines Manage and execute process improvement projects within the processing department Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet customer schedule attainment, inventory control, scrap reduction, and quality goals Partner with Scheduling to ensure proper execution of production schedules and labor coverage Assist with preventive maintenance program development Support new product development and departmental testing standards Ensure FIFO material usage and proper inventory control Assist with equipment and vendor selection, change control requests, and permit preparation when required Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and workforce planning Assist in preparing annual capital and departmental operations budgets Qualifications B.S. degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in a fast‑paced cGMP manufacturing environment with a strong background in root cause problem solving, Lean Manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement 1–3 years of experience in cosmetics, fine chemicals, or pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or R&D operations preferred Knowledge of bulk tank manufacturing or product packaging operations Working knowledge of Equipment and Process Validation, statistical sampling methods, and cGMP requirements Experience leading teams through root cause analysis and corrective action processes Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills Demonstrated background in training, coaching, and project management including scope development, timelines, and deliverables Familiarity with Lean tools such as poka yoke, pFMEA, SMED, Standard Work, value stream mapping, TPM, 5S, continuous flow, visual factory, and Kanban systems Working knowledge of SPC and DOE preferred Familiarity with project management, technical transfer, and regulatory compliance Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, SAP, and related software What Success Looks Like Strong compliance across quality and regulatory systems Improved OEE and reduced downtime Engaged, cross‑trained workforce On‑time schedule attainment Measurable improvements in efficiency, scrap reduction, and productivity Zing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
