Work with various departments to deliver professional, ethical purchasing services and provide supervision for the purchasing department. Participate in the development and positioning of strategic purchasing practices for plant initiatives including major projects, capital activities and the development of local and regional contracts. Primary duties/responsibilities include: Deliver purchasing services in a professional and ethical manner. Participate in the development and positioning of strategic purchasing practices for all plant initiatives Participate and lead multi-functional purchasing teams Develop and manage purchasing strategies through the analysis of cost reports Supervise plant buyer and stores supervisors Implement best purchasing practices externally throughout the supply chain Ensure inventory accuracy and integrity Implement best practice by developing Purchasing/Storeroom objectives, creating SOP (standard operating procedures), and enforcing policies & procedures Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, guidelines and information requirements. Prepare, execute, and standardize authorized contract documentation for the tendering process. Provide procurement coaching and training to purchasing staff and plant personnel. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIRED Purchasing Management Certification through PMAC, APS or ISM or equivalent preferred. University degree in Business or Finance an asset Understanding of Finance Basic understanding of American Contract Law 7 years’ experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, preferably in an industrial setting Demonstrated negotiating skills Supervisory experience Commitment to continuous improvement and total quality. Read, write and communicate in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly developed organizational abilities. High ethical standards. Experience working with JDE / Oracle ERP systems Ability to teach. Ability to perform well in a team environment. Self-motivator #J-18808-Ljbffr
