Job Summary Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long‑term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer‑related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of purchasing disciplines. Impact of the Role General Profile Requires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline and broadens capabilities Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customers Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Develops and executes sourcing strategy, evaluates product offerings, recommends suppliers, and negotiates contracts for assigned categories or departments Gathers business requirements and identifies and pre‑qualifies potential suppliers Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and collects bids or other information Evaluates proposals/quotes based on offering quality, cost, or other criteria and recommends suppliers that best meet the organization's requirements Works with selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements May oversee tactical purchasing operations, such as the issuance of purchase orders or the payment of invoices Ensures that all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2‑4 years' experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education &/or experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Discipline/Major: Business Administration / Supply Chain Management Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team, decision‑making skills, oral and written communication skills, analytical thinking skills, detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery Travel Requirements No or very little travel likely #J-18808-Ljbffr
