Overview The Procurement team at Argonne National Laboratory seeks applications from talented and highly-motivated individuals to join a team of specialists focused on providing procurement support and exceptional service to the scientists, engineers, and organizations across the Laboratory. The Procurement Specialist facilitates the procurement process through the timely and economical acquisition of IT hardware, software, and services required by the scientific and operations organizations of Argonne National Laboratory within the legal constraints of regulatory procedures and statutes. A successful candidate is expected to have experience delivering exceptional customer service as well as attention to detail. Responsibilities Handle some of Argonne’s most complex and sensitive acquisitions, requiring an in-depth knowledge of contracting rules, regulations and procedures. Perform a full range of pre- and post-award acquisition activities. Work jointly with a multitude of personnel (e.g., program, finance, budget, legal). Develop procurement objectives, schedule procurement activities to ensure timely contract award, determine types of contracts, and identify any special regulatory or statutory requirements applicable to the acquisition. Qualifications PA2: Bachelor’s and 2+ years of experience or a Master’s and 0+ years of experience, or equivalent. Knowledge of the characteristics of software licensing and IT hardware products and services being procured. Ability to complete price and cost analysis. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Effective written and oral communication and negotiation skills. Good analytical and strategic thinking skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Coordinates and controls contract administration activities, interprets contract provisions, ensures consistency in contract administration, and addresses needs for contract modifications, including contract termination and close-out. The expected hiring range for this position is $60,750.00 - $94,770.00. The pay range information is a general guideline; the final offer depends on scope and responsibilities, qualifications, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay.
