General Role Description
Perform pre-purchase activities for buyers to ensure effective procurement of equipment and services
Role Accountabilities
- Analyze demand, forecast, and on-hand inventory to ensure buyers' purchase requisition queues are accurate
- Negotiate non-disclosure agreements for new suppliers, as required
- Coordinate with engineering to implement bill of material changes and manage new or obsolete materials
- Coordinate procurement activities with the planning and engineering departments for product revisions and obsolete units
- Execute special optimization and continuous improvement projects as directed by the Procurement Manager, as needed
- Identify and recommend opportunities for efficiency in the procurement process, and implement as requested
- Serve as point of contact for engineering and special projects
- Update item master prices, as necessary
- Notify suppliers to issue invoices after equipment, materials, and services have been received, and are past due
- Enter schedules and shipping details in ERP, as necessary

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in business, supply chain management, or industrial distribution, or equivalent via education and/or work experience
- 3 years purchasing or demand analysis experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing and sourcing systems
- Proficiency in an ERP purchasing system
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally less than 5%, with limited notice
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business, supply chain management or industrial distribution
- Purchasing experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency, international, industrial environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency in Oracle
- Project management experience
