Status: Full Time, Exempt

Works with the Principal Product Strategist to implement the benefits design and execution of a portfolio of insurance products, which may include but is not limited to: Commercial fully insured, Commercial self funded, Medicare Advantage (Direct Bill, UVMHA, and/or EGWP), Special Needs Plans, Government and State Programs, Ancillary products (dental, vision, spending accounts, and COBRA), and other related products. Ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills which they use to establish stakeholder relationships built on trust. The position must be committed to being innovative, disruptive, and focused on delivering for customers. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Principal Product Strategist, executes on the development of assigned products.
  • Manage the assigned portfolio of products, including prioritizing and recommending changes, enhancements, retirements, and new offerings.
  • Work with Actuarial on benefit updates, pricing changes, and recommend tradeoffs for the portfolio.
  • Provide input and support to Sales, Sales Training, and Product Marketing to ensure that sales strategy, brand direction and product positioning are aligned.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on products assigned, including thorough analysis of all aspects of product performance, design, competitive position, overall experience, and regulatory compliance.
  • Works closely with Product Delivery, and assists with the creation and quality of regulatory templates and submissions, such as Medicare ANOCs and EOCs, Commercial SBCs, COCs, and Slicks, or other regulatory help the team may require.
  • Deep understanding of internal proprietary data; seeks to understand customer needs.
  • Assessment, evaluation, and recommendation of potential partners, vendors and carriers to support growth objectives and product strategy.
  • Manages current external vendor relationships; serves as bridge between external partners and internal stakeholders across the organization.
  • Create and present business cases, presentations, and other documentation intended to recommend new ideas and strategic opportunities.
  • Researches competitors, non-traditional competitors, market updates, and industry changes.
  • Project manage multiple initiatives and priorities across the business and develop process improvement recommendations where needed.
  • Minimal travel between MVP offices, including overnight travel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications

Minimum Experience:
Minimum of five years of health insurance experience, preferably in product development, product management, product marketing, or product delivery/implementation/operations.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work creatively and problem-solve based on customer needs - incorporating data sets and analysis to build, test, and iterate product design.
  • Experience working with data, including interpreting results, creating reports, and presenting information.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent computer and software skills including but not limited to: MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
