The Product Catalog Manager is directly responsible for the creation, maintenance, accuracy, and distribution of catalog data and digital assets. This role will be essential in ensuring the catalog conforms to industry standards (ACES & PIES) with a deep understanding of VCdb, Qdb, PCdb, Brand, and PAdb requirements. The Product Catalog Manager will support the launch of new products in addition to maintaining existing products. This role will continue to find ways to optimize cataloging efforts while maintaining the highest level of accuracy.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a detailed and thorough knowledge of product catalog data including but not limited to:
    • Detailed automotive application data
    • Catalog conflicts, overlaps, VIO, and gaps
    • Product images and digital assets
    • Current industry catalog standards and versions (ACES, PIES, etc.)
    • Delivery guidelines of our customers and distribution partners
    • Accurate OE, industry, customer, and competitor interchanges
  • Receive, research, and respond to customer and sales team concerns regarding application fitment and product attributes, coordinating with necessary teams in a timely manner.
  • Champion maintaining and improving current and future PIMS (Product Information Management System) and develop standards and processes for maintaining accurate and consistent data.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of catalog data updates in proper format and with correct notation to customers.
  • Manage/distribute product images (conventional & 360-degree) and other digital assets.
  • Receive, analyze, and summarize both customer and industry data to drive initiatives for product introductions, catalog corrections (internally & externally), potential product/catalog consolidations, etc.
  • Analyze discrepancy reports provided by users/systems to make determinations on what modifications to implement to new and existing content.
  • Protects the business by keeping business strategies, trade secrets and financials confidential.
  • Technical group resource/support on special projects, as needed.
  • Review and resolve catalog assessment reports from content receivers (Opticat, WHI, etc.)
  • Work with Marmon Cataloging teams on system integration, vehicle & part research, and other strategic initiatives
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5+ years catalog related experience (mapping, distribution, management, validation, research, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive makes, models, submodels, engines, transmission types, and other catalog attributes.
  • AutoCare catalog standard knowledge (ACES, PIES) and related tables (VCdb, Qdb, PCdb, PAdb, etc.)
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with PartSmart PIM System a plus, but not required. Must have PIMS experience.

Qualifications include:

  • Must be flexible, able to pay excellent attention to detail and work under pressure during periods of peak work volume.
  • Proven ability to communicate analytical findings and related strategic recommendations clearly to multiple teams and areas of expertise.
  • Always demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Ability to travel by air, train, automobile. Employee will be expected to stand for extended periods for trade shows. Minimal lifting required (less than 20 lbs.). Ability to work hours necessary when traveling to customers.

Near vision required for computer and paperwork. Must be able to hear and speak.

Minimal risk is expected from this position; however, the employee must take precautions while traveling and while at the factory and follow company safety guidelines.
