The Product Certification Specialist ensures compliance and maintenance of certifications for hazardous location products. This role involves managing product safety documentation, coordinating audits with certification bodies, and driving continuous compliance with global standards. The candidate will act as the primary technical resource for certification-related issues and provide expertise in FM, FM Canada, CSA, ATEX, and other international product safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain hazardous location product certifications and compliance documentation.

  • Coordinate, host, and support external audits by certified bodies and regulatory agencies.

  • Develop and execute project plans to ensure ongoing compliance with certification requirements.

  • Advise on technical issues impacting certifications and ensure product safety compliance.

  • Conduct supplier audits for certification-critical components and deliver technical training to operators and suppliers.

  • Support Canadian CRN registration and European regulatory requirements including REACH and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).

  • Collaborate on electronic circuit and PCB design reviews, perform mechanical/electronic testing, and lead product safety analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.

  • Hands-on experience with FM, FM Canada, CSA, ATEX certification processes, and work with notified bodies.

  • Familiarity with CRN, REACH, and PED requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuit design, product testing, and safety analysis.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills; limited travel required.
