Position: Product Development Engineer IILocation: Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417Duration: 3+ month contract with possible extensionPay Rate: b/w $55/hr - $65/hr (depending on experience)VISA SPONSORSHIP: NO (No H1Bs/ C2Cs)Relocation Expenses/ Assistance: NO Position Summary:Provide strong technical expertise and engineering support for the design and development of both new and existing products. This includes addressing product quality, manufacturing efficiency, supply continuity, and cost optimization.Key Responsibilities:Support design and development activities across new and legacy products.Resolve issues related to product quality, manufacturing, and cost efficiency.Collaborate on cross-functional project teams, ensuring timely and accurate technical input.Foster innovation by proactively proposing novel concepts and product enhancements.Understand customer needs through:Literature reviewsCustomer interviews and direct observationsCompetitive product analysisPrototype evaluationsClinical or simulated use studiesTranslate customer and business requirements into engineering specifications and product/process designs.Engineer robust, manufacturable solutions leveraging core engineering principles.Develop and execute validation test methods, including:Specifying test equipment and setupConducting measurement systems analysisPerforming data analysisGenerate detailed technical documentation and reports to support design verification, design changes, and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred).2–4 years of engineering experience, ideally within the medical device industry.Proficiency in statistical tools and computer-based analysis.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to apply engineering fundamentals to practical challenges.
