About this OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the Melitron Corporation Engineering Team. Reporting to the VP of Product Development, the successful candidate will play a central role in the design, development, and launch of innovative metal products, with a strong focus on digital signage enclosures, interactive kiosks, and display‑integrated solutions.This role is ideal for a creative engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys hands‑on problem‑solving, and is passionate about creating high‑quality, electro-mechanical products that integrate mechanical design, electronics, and user‑focused functionality.Responsibilities may includeProduct Design & DevelopmentLead the design and development of digital signage products, kiosks, and display‑based metal enclosures from concept through production and subsequent engineering maintenance of it.Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications using SolidWorksUsing engineering principles and tools, such as solid modeling and FEA, design and develop products that meet minimum structural, safety and code requirements.Translate customer and internal requirements into component‑level design criteria.Develop aesthetic designs that integrate LCD displays, touchscreens, and electronic components.Prototyping & TestingBuild and evaluate prototypes to validate fit, function, manufacturability, durability, and safety.Conduct analytical, environmental, and functional testing on prototypes, including display mounting, and thermal performance.Coordinate prototype build plans and lab testing activities.Manufacturing IntegrationProvide strong DFM (Design for Manufacturing) input to ensure efficient fabrication using sheet metal, machining, welding, laser cutting and forming.Work closely with production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing.Cost, Materials & ComplianceIdentify cost‑saving opportunities through design optimization or material selection.Select appropriate metals and materials for structural integrity, environmental durability, and manufacturability.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.Cross‑Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales, and suppliers to align product goals.Present product proposals, design updates, and technical recommendations to stakeholders.Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering 5+ years in product development or manufacturing engineering, ideally in display-based product design or metal fabrication.Proficiency in SolidWorks. Strong understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and materials science. Knowledge of DFM, FMEA, tolerance stack ups, BOM creation, and engineering documentation.Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environmentSelf-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced settingProficiency with MS OfficeFamiliarity with ISO 9001 is an assetWe thank you for your interest in working for Melitron.
