Product Development Engineer**Must live in Sarasota, FL area or be open to relocating- relocation package offered!**Summary:We are seeking a skilled Product Development Engineer for one of our well-known medical equipment manufacturing clients, in the Sarasota, FL area.This Engineer will design, develop, and enhance new and existing products by applying engineering principles. Applies project management principles to deliver products on budget, on schedule while meeting the customer requirements. Provides technical oversite and mentoring for Product Design Engineers.The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to develop and launch new products.Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product development strategies.Design and develop prototypes and perform testing to evaluate product performance and compliance with specifications.Utilize CAD software to create detailed design drawings and specifications.Analyze test results and iterate designs based on feedback and findings.Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring that milestones are met within budget constraints.Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, testing protocols, and user manuals.Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues related to product design and functionality.Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to innovate and enhance product offerings.Willing to travel 15%Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.6+ years of professional experience in product engineering, design, and testing, within a heavy machinery manufacturing setting.Design and development experience in mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.Experience developing parts, components, assemblies, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using 3-D CAD, preferably with SolidWorks.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams.Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to product safety and quality is a plus.
