Do you have a passion for the creation of food and the packaging of food?

Our client has an opening for a Product Development Lab Technologist

In this role you will be supporting product development, ideally in food consumer packaged goods.

  • Support product development initiatives from start to full production
  • Prepare experiments
  • Gather/order ingredients and equipment needed
  • Accurately weigh ingredients
  • Network with internal experts to learn bench-top procedures, methods, testing protocols
  • Execute experiments and product make-up at the bench-top and/or at pilot plant scale
  • Analytical testing and sensory evaluation of ingredients and food products
  • Collect and report data - record/document observations and share key findings in a timely manner with the team
  • Basic data analysis as needed

Salary: $DOE/ hr (long term contract)

Schedule: FT, 40 hours, Monday - Friday

Location: "onsite" at clients location in Minneapolis, MM 55427

Benefits: Health Insurance Medical / Dental / Vision

Qualifications

  • High School Degree w/3+ years of directly relatable experience
  • Or 2 yr Degree Preferred!
  • Previous work experience in a similar field - food product development experience/laboratory experience
  • Previous experience in ingredient applications and technologies A Plus!
  • Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment and laboratory setting
  • Comfortable operating equipment
  • Basic computer/technology skills (MSOffice Products, etc)
  • Basic understanding of food safety and human safety
  • Skills to be successful - Self-Starter, multi-task, proactive, ability to adapt, Critical Thinker, Problem-Solving, ability to trouble-shoot, Conflict Resolution, and Relationship building skills, ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, desire to learn, creative, innovative thinker
  • Ability to communicate effectively and contribute in a team environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
  • The position is subject to passing a background check ad drug screen
