Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Product Development Manager who has experience with Confectionery products. Someone who is creative in developing new products as well as safely manufacturing the existing recipes.


If you are looking to be a part of a team that takes great pride in the products and company and is very hands on in the development of the confectionery products, read on!


Description:


  • Execute and maintain all recipes, processes and product standards.
  • Train others in the confectionery techniques and product specs.
  • Be the subject matter expert in chocolate tempering, caramelization, etc.
  • Work closely with Production to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, and ensure it is used safely and in alignment with product standards.
  • Evaluate new equipment or technologies that increase quality and productivity.
  • Create seasonal, limited-edition, and core new products.
  • Develop prototypes, run test batches, and manage evaluations.
  • Research new trends, ingredients and technologies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on launch timelines, packaging, pricing and marketing.
  • Oversee product quality from raw ingredients to end product.
  • Maintain QC protocols, product specs, batch reviews, and shelf-life.
  • Ingredient procurement (chocolate, inclusion, flavorings, and packaging components)
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor inventory levels.


Requirements:


  • 3-7 years of professional experience in confectionery, chocolate production, pastry, or food manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in chocolate work and at least three major confection types.
  • Hands-on experience with key confectionery and chocolate equipment.
  • Key understanding of chocolate crystallization, viscosity, batch scaling, and quality variables.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, identifying process improvements and introducing new methods.
  • Proven ability to develop and scale new products from concept to full production.
  • Strong understanding of foods safety standards, allergens, an manufacturing best practices.
  • Small batch experience is preferred.
