About the Team The Project Development Team is a cross-functional group working together to conceive, design, build, and launch new products. The team works closely with marketing and sales to launch the product and gather feedback to plan future launches. About the Role The Product Development Manager lives at the intersection of market intuition and technical precision. They will be the architect of our product future, responsible for identifying what the market needs next and ensuring we design and build products to the highest standard. This is a “hands‑on” management role. The Product Development Manager will own the roadmap of technical execution, ensuring our site solutions are as functional as they are beautiful. What You Will Do Portfolio Strategy & Curation: Own the lifecycle of the Tournesol portfolio. You will conduct market research to identify trends in urban landscape design and curate a product mix that maintains our competitive edge. You will also ensure existing product lines are curated and updated along with relevant guide specifications, architectural details, master product data sets (general PLM duties are part of the team’s responsibilities). Product Launch Leadership: Lead the “Go‑to‑Market” process for new products. You aren't just handing off a design; you are ensuring the product is positioned, priced, and ready for a successful hand‑off. Technical Team Management: Directly lead and mentor a high‑performing team of 4‑5 Design Engineers / CAD Specialists. You will be responsible for their output, professional growth, and the technical integrity of their work. External Design Partnership: Initially in collaboration with the Head of Engineering, manage relationships with outside Industrial Design partners. You will ensure their creative vision aligns with our manufacturing capabilities and brand standards and contracts are written and fulfilled in mutual interest. Executive Governance: Present the product roadmap and progress reports to the Product Steering Committee on a quarterly/semi‑annual basis, justifying investments with data and clear strategic vision. “Zero‑Foot Level” Problem Solving: Use your deep technical background to dive into the weeds. When a design challenge arises, you have the expertise to troubleshoot materials, sourcing, manufacturing constraints, or structural design issues alongside your team. What You Will Need 5+ years of experience in Product Development or Engineering, with at least 3 years in leadership capacity within the architectural, civil or durable goods manufacturing industries Strategic vision with a proven track record of taking products from concept to market success Able to distill complex technical roadmaps into actionable insights for executive leadership A strong desire to learn and understand our market Good interpersonal, communication and phone/email skills Ability to quickly build effective partnerships with Sales and Marketing in delivering a compelling design story with a strong position to influence designers and building architects.
