Product Manager – Lighting
AFX Lighting is seeking a motivated Product Manager to support the development and lifecycle management of our LED lighting portfolio. This role partners closely with engineering, sourcing, sales, and marketing to bring technically sound, market-relevant lighting products to life.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career product professional with lighting or electrical industry experience who wants hands-on exposure to LED technology, fixture construction, compliance standards, and cross-functional product development within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development Support
• Assist in managing new product development from concept through production.
• Support creation of detailed product specifications (lumens, CCT, CRI, driver selection, dimming compatibility, mechanical construction).
• Coordinate prototype reviews, sample evaluations, and testing feedback.
• Help ensure compliance with UL/ETL, Energy Star, Title 20/24, and other applicable lighting standards.
Product Lifecycle Management
• Monitor product performance, sales trends, inventory levels, and margin performance.
• Maintain accurate product documentation including spec sheets, installation instructions, IES files, and digital data.
• Own and help control product data integrity across internal systems, ERP, pricing files, customer portals, and digital platforms to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Assist with SKU setup, pricing updates, finish expansions, and product revisions.
Sales & Market Support
• Support development of product training materials and technical marketing content.
• Provide product information and technical guidance to sales and customer service teams.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking and monitor trends in LED technology and lighting design.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in product management, engineering, or marketing within lighting, electrical, or building products.
• Working knowledge of LED fixture construction, CCT, driver types, and dimming protocols (TRIAC, ELV, 0–10V).
• Familiarity with lighting documentation (spec sheets, CAD drawings, BOMs, test reports).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple SKUs and timelines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information clearly.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., generative AI for research, documentation drafting, competitive analysis, data synthesis, or workflow automation) to improve productivity and decision-making is highly valued.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within the lighting industry.
