Our client, a leader in the healthcare diagnostics industry, is seeking a Product Safety Specialist to join their team. As a Product Safety Specialist, you will be part of the Regulatory Affairs department supporting product safety and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong scientific expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude, which will align successfully within the organization. Job Title: Product Safety Specialist Location: South Portland, ME Pay Range: $40 -$44 Duration: 8+ Month Contract What's the Job? Implement and maintain effective product safety systems and programs to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards. Coordinate with various departments and external vendors to gather accurate product composition information for SDS generation. Develop standardized templates and processes for product safety data sheets and ensure their proper application across divisions. Support the development of long-term strategies for product safety and stewardship, aligning with organizational goals. Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards. What's Needed? B.S., MS, or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in the biotechnology industry with a focus on product safety and stewardship. Proven expertise in Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex, long-term initiatives. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and external partners.
