Your Role

Mission



Atlas Copco is committed to guide our customers to a more sustainable and Smarter Industry, with high focus on compressor room optimization. Your mission will be to support and develop the introduction of Atlas Copcos newest control system solutions, with high focus on the business development and product support of the EXTENDER+. The goal is to technically assist sales engineers and customers for each EXTENDER+ project and execute the successful installation and commissioning with the use of knowledgeable back office support.


The EXTENDER+ enables the integration, monitoring, and controls of different types of equipment. This allows Atlas Copcos Optimizer 4.0 central controller to extend its optimization beyond air compressors. By controlling all the Equipment together in harmony, the customer can benefit from lower energy costs, maintenance, reduced CO2 and much more! There is a broad range of applications which can be achieved with the connection of EXTENDER+. It allows the regulation of the cooling circuits according to the usage of the compressed air, or operate valves further downstream to isolate specific parts in the customers Air network and much more.


Roles and Responsibilities



Product responsibilities: Extender+.


Business Development (30%) In consultation with the Business Line Manager/Vice President and Business Development Managers to create and implement business development and marketing communications plans. Present plans to Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Managers and coordinate/motivate sales efforts to achieve established growth and sales goals. Provide monthly reports to management regarding the effectiveness of business plan implementation in achieving sales goals. As this new product needs introduction into the US market, a strong business and sales development plan is crucial.


Marketing Communications (10%) In-line with the Atlas Copco product offering assure that the required Marketing and communication documents and materials are available for technical and sales engineers. Support the product Marketing manager in the marketing activities. Develop and implement informational session and training programs as required to achieve business development goals. Review competitor positions and create competitor comparison reports. Based on these reports, provide recommendation to management regarding products that could/should be developed. Additionally monitor competitor pricing to make sure we are competitive in our pricing model.


Customer Service & Field engineering (60%) Take an active role in the project coordination for each Extender+. Align with the customer on the technical and commercial specifications and validity, support Engineering in the development of new or existing control systems. Evaluate the technical proposals and edit according to customers specifications. During execution, the Extender+ will be commissioned in a hybrid way, by you (onsite at the customer) together with the backoffice engineering team. With your theoretical and practical knowledge on process automation and PLC technology, youll in charge of the implementation and commissioning of the PLC system at the customers installation.


Professional Development (5%) Through training and development, remain current in the product knowledge and sales/marketing skills necessary to be effective in the position.


Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.


Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.


Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.

Experience



A minimum of 3-5 years experience in application engineering or technical support, with specific experience in industrial controls. In depth understating of PLC and control systems is required. Theoretical and hands-on experience with process automation for PLC programming and commissioning is a must. Customer interaction from a Sales & Marketing perspective.


Education



Bachelors (4-year) degree in electronics or mechanical engineering or related field, and/or equivalent education and training.


Skills



Must be a self-directed team player, who has a positive attitude, can motivate those around them, and is service/solution oriented. Must also have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point, experience in SAP applications would be an advantage. Some travel to support field sales activities will be required. Analytical skills is needed on daily basis.
