Production EngineerLocation: South CambridgeReporting to: Head of ManufacturingRole OverviewThis is a hands-on Production Engineer role supporting the continued development of a production engineering function within a manufacturing environment. The position focuses on improving manufacturing efficiency, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting the release and manufacture of new products. The role involves close collaboration with production, supply chain, and R&D teams, as well as responsibility for tooling, equipment support, and technical drawing output.The ideal candidate will also have some experience with CAD Design/SOLIDWORKS. The company can offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Support & CollaborationWork closely with production, assembly, supply chain, and R&D teams to resolve manufacturing issuesSupport delivery capability for in-house manufactured productsManage production engineering projects and lead weekly engineering meetingsTooling, Equipment & InfrastructureDesign, implement, and project-manage jigs, fixtures, and toolingLiaise directly with suppliers when requiredTroubleshoot production equipment and infrastructure issuesMaintain jigs and tools to ensure operational efficiencyEnsure preventative maintenance schedules are in place and followedManage and maintain 3D printing capabilitiesContinuous ImprovementSupport continuous improvement initiativesIdentify and implement productivity, quality, uptime, and profitability improvementsTechnical Drawings & DocumentationProduce 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorksSupport custom product requirements and liaise with customers when requiredTroubleshoot mechanical and electronic assembliesSupport maintenance of product safety approvals and documentationPromote and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental requirementsExperience & SkillsMinimum 5 years’ experience in a production engineering roleExperience using CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)Understanding of quality systems within manufacturingExperience with ERP and/or MRP systemsExcellent organisation, planning, and time management skillsHands-on, adaptable, and solution-focused approachAble to work independently and as part of a teamSounds good, how do I apply?Option 1: Click the apply button, don't worry if you don't have an up-to-date CV, we can discuss whatever you have to hand.Option 2: Find Morgan Veness on LinkedIn and drop me a message or connection request
