A CAD CAM Engineer is sought a leading precision engineering & manufacturing business who have won significant new programmes with defence & aerospace customersProduction Engineer – CNC / CAD CAM Salary £40,000 to £45,000Location: NuneatonOverviewAs a CAD CAM Engineer you will be instrumental in converting engineering drawings and CAD models into accurate and efficient CNC programs for large multi axis milling machines producing close tolerance tooling and components.Key Responsibilitieso Develop and optimise CNC programmes and cutting/ toolpaths to produce high precision tooling and componentso Ensure correct tooling, holders and machine selection prior to programmingo Collaborate with machinists to resolve machining issues and support productiono Maintain accurate programming documentation and revision controlo Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the teamo Support the quotation process with lead-times and costsKey Skills and Experienceo Expert knowledge of CNC multi axis milling machinery - setting/operating/programming using online & offline softwareo Able to use and adapt different CAD/CAM packages - WorkNC, PowerMill and PowerShape or similaro Expert knowledge in CNC machine tooling and fixturingo Experience with 3D modelling is essentialo Demonstrable knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 standards are desirableo High attention to detail with a methodical approach to worko Mechanical engineering background with experience in high tolerance machining of components and tooling, ideally for aerospace, defence, automotive or similar industry sectorsThe opportunity:This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer with strong CNC programming or CAD CAM experience to join a specialist division of a global manufacturing organisation who are both winning and quoting for significant new business, particularly with defence, aerospace and automotive manufacturers.
