OVERVIEW The Production Manager will manage and coordinate all aspects of operations for the assigned department, ensuring safety, quality, cost, service, and employee relation needs are met. Will provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to Production Supervisors & Leads. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Organizes and manages daily operational requirements to consistently meet customer expectations through on the floor involvement Oversees implementation of employee development programs to ensure company needs are met relative to employee knowledge, training, and development Directly supervises production supervisors, monitors lead and hourly employees. Advises direct reports on proper handling of disciplinary actions, performance assessments, and overall communication with hourly associates Sets expectations, track results and manages accountability Monitors staffing needs to allow company objectives to be met Ensures a positive environment is maintained to allow for maximum employee involvement through department meetings, open-door policy, team activities, and empowerment Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of supervisory experience with a significant level of responsibility with operations and personnel or commensurate experience gained from on-the-job training Food Manufacturing experience preferred Demonstrated leadership ability and strong communication skills Personal computer skills including MS Word and Excel Ability to work within timelines and in pressure situations Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities Excellent interpersonal communication skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, if applicable. Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures down to 28 degrees and up 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise up to 110 db. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Must handle the weight of 8 to 10 lbs repetitively, occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling 40 to 70 lbs. Exposure to dust, feathers, and chemicals used in a poultry processing facility. Ability to work in a stationary position, on feet for the entire shift. Ability to work with tools, like scissors, knives, and/or power tools for the duration of the shift.
