Production Manager – Wire Harness Manufacturing Morgan Hill, CA Direct Hire | Full-Time Salary: $100K–$120K (based on experience)About the RoleOur client is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in wire harness and cable assembly solutions. They are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations while remaining actively engaged on the production floor.This is a true player-coach role focused on developing teams, driving accountability, and improving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).What You’ll DoLead day-to-day production operations across wire harness and cable assembly lines Build a “results through people” culture by developing Supervisors, Team Leads, and production staff Maintain strong floor presence (Gemba), addressing issues in real time Drive improvements in first-pass yield, defect reduction, and overall product quality Own production scheduling and throughput to meet on-time delivery targets Balance labor, reduce downtime, and eliminate bottlenecks Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, 5 Whys, PDCA) Use KPIs and Pareto analysis to prioritize and drive continuous improvement Lead daily production meetings to align teams and ensure execution Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance Support workforce planning, cross-training, and team development What We’re Looking For8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience 3+ years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role Experience in wire harness, cable assembly, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing strongly preferred Proven ability to lead teams and drive accountability on the production floor Strong background in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement Experience with data-driven decision-making (KPIs, root cause analysis, Pareto) Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems Bachelor’s degree preferred Bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese) is a plus Why This RoleHigh-impact leadership role with strong visibility on the production floor Opportunity to directly influence performance, culture, and team development Fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment
