About the Role

Our client is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in wire harness and cable assembly solutions. They are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations while remaining actively engaged on the production floor.

This is a true player-coach role focused on developing teams, driving accountability, and improving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day production operations across wire harness and cable assembly lines
• Build a “results through people” culture by developing Supervisors, Team Leads, and production staff
• Maintain strong floor presence (Gemba), addressing issues in real time
• Drive improvements in first-pass yield, defect reduction, and overall product quality
• Own production scheduling and throughput to meet on-time delivery targets
• Balance labor, reduce downtime, and eliminate bottlenecks
• Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, 5 Whys, PDCA)
• Use KPIs and Pareto analysis to prioritize and drive continuous improvement
• Lead daily production meetings to align teams and ensure execution
• Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance
• Support workforce planning, cross-training, and team development

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
• 3+ years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role
• Experience in wire harness, cable assembly, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing strongly preferred
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive accountability on the production floor
• Strong background in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Experience with data-driven decision-making (KPIs, root cause analysis, Pareto)
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese) is a plus
