Job Description:
The role of the Oil car Operator is to operate all oil car unloading equipment effectively and manage unloading all oil as needed. This position is preparing an employee to train to be an Operator.
Summary:
Support the company's mission, value, strategic goals, vision, and objectives.
Follow established oil car unloading procedures, maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
Perform additional duties as required by supervision.
ISO responsibility within your department.
Ability to operate all the equipment relating to the oil car unloading operation
Understand and abide by all safety precautions related to CBO oil
Understand and abide by all safety precautions related to working around rail cars
Effectively follow the oil car unloading procedure
Ability to effectively hook up oil cars and unhook them
Follow all guidelines for PPE required while completing tasks
Be able to locate all lock boxes and effectively lock out tracks
Safely and effectively hook up, and unhook, steam and condensate lines for heating up oil
Effectively close up oil car for proper shipping
Understand how to safely make repairs to oil leaks
Ability to properly clean up spills and work area during work day
Understand the process in relation to the environmental requirements
Requirements:
Position requires successful completion of the Operator training program.
Position has a minimum occasional lifting requirement of 65 lbs. from the knees and waist.
Must be able to visually inspect and describe reactions.
The ability to wear a respirator while performing certain job functions is essential.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, days, nights, shift work, long hours, etc.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Oil car operator experience preferred
Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
Must meet all qualifications of the Oil Car Operator to be eligible to qualify as an Operato
